Field Technician

The Field Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment or systems at customer locations. This role involves on-site visits to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and upgrades, often requiring technical knowledge and hands-on skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving abilities, strong customer service skills, and a solid understanding of the equipment or systems they work with
Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customer's preferences  
  • Configure file, print, and remote access services  
  • Administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup 
  • Backup Maintenance  
  • Ability to provide accurate time estimates for how long a task will take  
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies using self-study materials and intuition  

Key Qualifications:
 
  • Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity  
  • Experience with routers and firewalls  
  • Experience with Terminal Services 
  • Understanding of relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network  
  • Understanding of DNS services  
  • Working Knowledge of Non-Cisco Firewall Technologies - SonicWALL, Linksys, NetGear  
  • Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies  
  • Education in Networking is great, but experience, passion and culture will win the day
  • Net+ and Sec+ are required within the first 180 days of hire
  • The pay range is $20-25/hr.
